Overview

The application for the Teacher ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program (TEP) is not complicated and should not take more than a few minutes to complete. However, please do take the time to make your selections carefully and correctly. Most delays in the processing of applications are the result of students selecting the wrong information on the form. Please review the following information, and then log in to and apply.

When to apply

Apply by February 15 for admission for Fall semester.

Apply by September 15 for admission for Spring semester.

IU College

All undergraduates in the School of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø should select School of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Please do not select Graduate School – ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø; that category is reserved for graduate students. If you are earning a degree such as Music ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, please select your School (Jacobs School of Music).

Semester you plan to start Teacher ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program Authorized Classes

This refers to the semester in which you will begin your first Block.

License Area and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program

This guideline addresses two separate sections of the application: License Area and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program. Please take a minute to review your options before making your selection.

If you are majoring in...

• Elementary ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø
  
  • Select License Area: Elementary: Primary and Intermediate
    
  • Select ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program: Elementary: Theory Into Practice K-6
    
  • Select Area of Concentration, License Addition or Academic Minor

• Early Childhood ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø
  
  • Select License Area: Early Childhood and Elementary: Primary
    
  • Select ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program: Early Childhood ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø 

• Teaching All Learners (TAL)
  
  • Select License Area: Exceptional Needs ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and Elementary
    
  • Select ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program: Teaching All Learners: Elementary 

For Secondary ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, please note that all Secondary ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø majors are pursuing an Anchor program. 

If you are majoring in… 

• Secondary ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø
  
  • Select License Area: Middle School, Junior High or High School
  • Select ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program: Secondary ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Undergraduate Anchor
    This allows you to select your Content Field (e.g., Social Studies, Language Arts/English, Mathematics) 

• Secondary Special ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø
  
  • Select License Area: Middle School, Junior High or High School
  • Select ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program: Secondary Special ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. This allows you to select your Content Field (e.g., Language Arts/English, Mathematics or Science)

• All-Grades (K-12)
  
  • Select License Area: All School Settings (Music, Visual Arts, World Languages)
    This allows you to select your ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Program (e.g., Music ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, Visual Arts Undergraduate, World Languages Undergraduate). Please do not select a graduate option, and only select Community of Teachers if you have been accepted into the Community of Teachers program.
