Launched in September 2026, the Center for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CEIE) is designed to help teams take promising ideas from problem identification to solution implementation to social impact.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s most pressing challenges call for more than good ideas; they require new ways to connect research, learning, and action, so that universities can help solve problems that matter most in people’s lives. CEIE identifies needs with educators and community stakeholders, develops and tests solutions in real settings, and uses evidence to strengthen what works, so promising approaches can improve learning and well-being at greater scale.

The State of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø: Educators as Innovators
In this episode of The State of Inquiry from Indiana Public Media, School of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Dean Robert Q. Berry III speaks with James Damico and Richard Carter about how educators design learning environments for a rapidly changing technological landscape.
CEIE serves faculty and students in the School of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and across Indiana University. Students build entrepreneurial skills by tackling consequential education challenges, gaining the judgment and experience to become innovative change-makers. Faculty receive practical support to translate their research into educational tools, programs, and ventures as they work with collaborators across IU and beyond.
By working alongside schools, organizations, and communities, CEIE helps move effective solutions into practice and build pathways for their impact to endure and expand.
CEIE is made possible by the generous support of Vernon and Julia Johnson.
