Student teaching placements are usually made in the following counties: Donegal, Galway, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Kerry, and Wicklow. To facilitate placements in this popular host nation, students must understand that arrangements could be made in any of these counties. Residence types vary depending on the town/city in which placements are made. Some students may live in homestay accommodations while others may live in hostels, apartments, or other shared housing.

Bridget student taught mathematics at a secondary school in Ireland, in Spring 2023. "I formed such a close bond with my homestay hosts, which made my stay in Ireland even better than I could have hoped," she said.
Global Gateway for Teachers cannot provide exact cost information since costs will vary throughout the year and from one individual to the next. Students may teach a variety of subjects and grade levels. In most cases, they will teach in their own licensing area (e.g. elementary education, secondary math, etc.). Further, it may be possible to fulfill practicum requirements in Ireland for the following license additions: ESL/ENL, Reading, JH/MS, computers, and possibly others. The language of instruction is English.
