Accelerated M.S.Ed. in Comparative and International ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (Online)
for students in International Studies
This asynchronous online master's program is designed to develop budding scholars’ and practitioners’ abilities to research and understand the relationship between education and the economic, social, political, and cultural developments that shape national and regional systems of schooling. Issues of access, opportunity, and equity provide a common focus in the program. You will have the opportunity to complete an international travel study and/or practicum experience in comparative and international education, if desired. The degree requires 30 total hours of coursework.
You’ll study with widely known faculty members with significant research and writing in the field of comparative and international education, an area for which the IU School of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is prominent. Students will broaden their intellectual outlook and develop important analytical and research skills, which can be applied in formal and non-formal education sectors. Other students take this degree as a first step toward a Ph.D. program.

Undergraduates in International Studies may count 12 credits in their senior year (i.e., 9 credits from Hamilton Lugar School for Global & International Studies and 3 credits from the School of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) for consecutive completion of the M.S.Ed. in Comparative and International ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Thus, the concentration requirement for the CIE graduate degree is fulfilled by having taken three courses (9 credits) in International Studies from Hamilton Lugar.
Full-time students take two academic years and one summer to complete the degree requirements. To complete courses in the preferred sequence, students need to begin coursework in the fall semester.
